ART TOUR FESTIVAL 2023 / Saturday 14 October / 13.00 - 2.00

This event will take place on 14 October 2023 partly with a new content for the seventh time. The festival /formerly Gallery Tour/ will connect five exhibition venues/galleries and blend their exhibition presentation, focused on contemporary art, with other kinds of artistic activities, which are slam poetry, events in public space, film screening, architectural experience walk, art exchange and concert performance + rave.
This year we will be moving between program points on foot as all events are concentrated in the city centre.

13.00-14.00 - Kabinet T. Gallery / J. A. Bati 5637, 12th factory building, Zlín
Denisa Langrová: Dairy protest / guided tour of the exhibition
Denisa Langrová comes to Zlín a bit like a zooanthropologist to observe the site and compare her field research with many ecological, ethological and environmental theories and human-animal studies. Of course, as the author of several narrative videos already, she doesn't come without stories, and has several scenarios in mind that we won't reveal just yet. She searches for locations of potential events, collects and interweaves stories of interspecies relations, ethical and those that push the rights of human and non-human animals far beyond the quality of life.

Radek Michálek: Expedition 37 / guided tour of the exhibition by the author
Michal Schmidt: Slam poetry performance
Radek Michálek is a collector and a hunter. He embarks on expeditions and obtains "source" and sometimes physical reference catches from them, which he transforms and processes in his paintings, while coping with them through his work with casts.
Michel (Michal Schmidt) is a finalist for the 2019 WCR in slam poetry, and an organizer of slam events in Vysočina. Student of screenwriting and dramaturgy at FAMU. His texts focus on social and bittersweet themes, and his improvisations are based on bizarre stories.

Visual smog
Neverending story of public space in Zlín. The walk starts at the edge of the factory area, where formerly glass shopfronts and parterres are being massively covered. Inconsistent rules allow for layers of visual pollution over decades, examples include the ABS building or the main and bus station areas. Then there is the now classic example of the Market Hall building, which is a shining example of inappropriate handling of advertising. What are the ways out of the visual smog, where are the limits of the city and what options do we have as users?
The series of walks will build on existing routes that are being developed within the Zlín Architectural Manual project, which is implemented by the aArchitektura association.

New Media Studio 2 (AVU): Fearlessness / exhibition opening
What kind of art makes sense to create in times of social change?
Faced with the burnt-out collective traumas of violence and war not only in the neighbouring country and the associated collective anxiety, we raise the theme of Fearlessness.
Fearlesness brings a vertical dimension to the situation.
Fearlesness is the life stance of a warrior. Joy as a form of resistance.
Fearlessness deepens the themes of identity, corporeality, queerness, vulnerability, self-care, finding and inhabiting one's own space in society, feeling safe and above all joy.
From 18.00 - Art market in Building 44 / Šedesátá 44, Zlín
The Art market will take place on 14.10. as part of the Art Tour Festival under the auspices of Photogether Gallery. The market will be in Building 44, where there will be space for local artists to offer their work for purchase.
18.00-19.00 - Komnata Gallery / Zahradnická trolleybus stop, Zlín
Alžbětko Vocelové: Svnjítě / guided tour of the exhibition
The installation reflects a child's first conscious perception of solitude as something pleasant and safe in the context of (and to some extent in contrast to) the current tendency to attach oneself to people. None of this is perceived as an absolute state. With time, there is a natural oscillation between positions, prompting a need for reflection and understanding of these processes.
19.15-20.00 - Short film screening / Zlín Chateau, Soudní 1
Fugue on Black Keys (1964, Drahomíra Vihanová)
Fati Farari is from Africa. He studies piano with Professor Rauch in Prague and lives in a sublet with a czech family. Although he has a few friends among his students, he still occasionally encounters allusions to his dark skin. Before his graduation concert, he is invited to his country's embassy to receive an important message. Will he find in music the refuge he so desperately needs?

Piece Pissing / multichannel projection in public space
The current installation and projection in public space builds on previous projects responding to a specific place and the theme of the responses since 2017 in Zlín and Berlin, Germany, are specific places, not only with historical value, for example in the context of sculptural realizations.
The interaction would thus take the form of a smaller and temporary projection with performance. In addition to creating a dialogue-bridge between the actors, the aim of the event is to provoke a debate concerning the contemporary role and function of art in general. I create in public space out of the conviction that visual art is not just what hangs or lies in galleries, but that art can and should step out of and transcend these spaces.
21.00-3.00 - concerts Nanashi, Princip, Athena Chlebová, Rainer + DJ set Serb 686 + continuation of the Art market / admission 99 CZK / 44. Budova, Šedesátá 44, Zlín
Just like last year, there will be an accompanying programme of evening concerts and DJ sets, which will take place in the premises of the 44th building of the former Svit complex. Several musicians from the alternative scene in Zlín and Prague will play. The Art market will also continue here.
21.00-21.30 - Athena Chlebová
Athena is a lively kinder felting fairy rap. She paints her undeveloped simple world with metaphors. Her music can make you laugh, surprise, but also encourage and embrace.
21. 45-22.30 - Nanashi
Rap delivery with hyper-pop instrumentals accompanied by fanciful samples or also a sensitive speech with guitar or piano backing and acoustic drums. Nanashi, a producer and singer from Zlín, combines many styles and inspirations into her individual tracks, yet retains a strong signature in each of her tracks. This is also unmistakable in the visual sphere, as she creates her own music videos and graphics. Last year she released her debut album Nana, and this fall she plans to release a second album of nearly twenty singles. She will also play leaks from that project at the concert.
22.45-23.15 - Princip
Young artist living in Prague. His music moves between electronic, hyperpop and alternative indiepop. He collaborates with producer Rainer, they have two EPs together, Drama opens more themes of personal crisis and self-acceptance, Tragicomedy plays with superficiality and shallowness in a society in global crisis. He comments on these themes in a very poetic way and closely combines music with visuals, directing his own music videos and collaborating with fashion designers.
23.30-0.30 - Rainer LIVE set
Zlín-based producer and multi-instrumentalist with a wide range of genres. His music blends electronic music influences and acoustic instruments into dense but intimate arrangements. His signature can be heard on the radio from his collaborations with prominent faces of young alt pop and rap, as well as on the soundtracks of fashion shows and short films. As part of his dawless live set, he will showcase his instrumental work.
0.30-2.00 SERB686 DJ set
SERB686 is a young selector from Uherské Hradiště, whom locals could hear for example at the last Psychonaut Night event or at Dotek event. On his flash drive he has prepared sound which you will be able to listen to from 0:30 - 2:00
